Foreign Affairs, Trade & Industry

The ambition is to improve trade between Suriname and other countries. All plans and projects are focussed on this.

The ambition is to improve awareness and professionalism of entrepreneurship in Suriname. Another ambition is to make doing business in Suriname for foreign entrepreneurs easier.

Healthcare & Social Affairs

The ambition is to increase the quality and level of healthcare in a durable/sustainable way.

More specific: A list of 40 topics in healthcare is targeted for sustainable improvement, from prostate cancer and kidney dialysis to diabetics and essential medicine.

The focus is to let 100 healthcare organizations partner with foreign healthcare organizations, to build capacities in the organization, for 10 years in a row.

Education

The ambition is to increase the quality and level of education in a durable/sustainable way.

The focus is to let 100 educational organizations partner with foreign education organization, to build capacities in the organization, for 10 years in a row.

  1. School gardens & WIFI Project: Twelve new school gardens started in Suriname in 2023. Everyone at these schools is participating. It already produces a lot of fruits and vegetables and provides income for the school. Including paying for a WIFI subscription. These school gardens must be kept running. The montly cost is about 250 euros. Donations are needed for this. (school gardens-project.pdf)

Tourism and Sports

The ambition is to improve awareness and professionalism of tourism and sports in Suriname.

Many touristic and sportive opportunities are left untouched.

  1. Have Surinamese top athletes qualify in Q1 and Q2 2024 for the Olympic Games in Paris, in collaboration with the Dutch top sports world. Normally, Suriname's Olympic delegation consists of 3 or 4 people. That of the Netherlands is often over 200 people. Three Surinamese athletes and no athletes participated in the 2020 games.
